Pangkor Island Beach Resort

Ok, so first, please do not get confused with the hotel. Yes, it is the Pangkor Island, but a different island from where Pangkor Laut is. This is the main Island, called the Pangkor Island.

So we went there one weekend, trying to see another side of the Pangkor. I mean, I felt inlove with Pangkor Laut, so I am sure more of less, the place would be nice too ?

Now, same way to drive up from Kuala Lumpur. Exit either at Bidor or Gopeng, heading to Sitiawan / Lumut. They would have the Sales Office there for you to register and take the Boat transfer. Now, if you are used to Pangkor Laut's speed boat, this is a different one all together. After all, the rates are also much different from Pangkor Laut Resort.

Lets see some photos here :

The room as we go in....yes, still box TV

Working table

Its Hollywood Twin....my son figuring out the bed :)

Sofa by the window to look out.....

From my room, you can see other blocks. So this is how the blocks look like.

and my room was sea facing

Seating area at the Balcony....please don't leave any food here....I would show you later why.

Sufficient supplies

Not many channels though

Big swimming pool

03 levels high, so just nice, very resort feeling

yes, very close to the beach....and at this side, this is the only resort

They also have some villas which is further away from the main block of hotels

View of the hotel from the sea

Yes, we do have some friends crawling around

Nice sunset, yes ?

Remember when I said, don't leave food at the balcony ?

This dude somehow took the fruits from next door room and walked over to our side

That's how close this dude was to us.

Anyway, not much I can say of this hotel.....I was actually afraid of the monkeys ! They do have a lot there. I was just relaxing by the beach, and I had a pack of Oreos for my son in my bag.....somehow, YES, SOMEHOW, the monkey knew it was there, and actually took it from my bag and ran away !!!!

I was also informed to ensure we don't leave any left overs from room service outside our doors, as the monkeys would also come. And some of these monkeys are smart that they can open up the room door. God ! it was hilarious when to think of it.

By nature, yes, the place is nice, nice sandy beach, but please beware do not come during Malaysian school holidays. The place would be pack !!

From the hotel, you can take a taxi to the main town of Pangkor to buy some dried items, dried anchovies, crackers, dried prawns and etc.... cheap and yummy.

Anyway, I know, I am so bias....but then, after I have stayed at Pangkor Laut Resort, any other resort in Pangkor would not be able to beat my love for Pangkor Laut Resort.

Oh yeah, if you ever come to this resort, please make sure you stay at the sea front . They do have some blocks as you come into the resort, and that's Garden view. Far from the swimming pool and far from the Main block. So pay a bit more to get the Seaview block.

And my 02 cents worth of thoughts.....

  1. Nice resort for a 2 nights stay
  2. If you are afraid of monkeys, give it a second thought
  3. Nice venue for a meeting gate away. At least, you have no where to go and can get full attention from your participants.
  4. Rooms need some refurbishments, especially the bathroom
In total, I don't quite fancy this hotel....but at least, I have been once. While I don't mind going back again, I don't think my family would :p but don't take my words for it, for you may like it....you may don't :)

Pangkor Laut Resort (PLR) - Part 3

Gosh.... this is so long overdue....I have been busy for the past 03 weeks as the summer is coming up and a lot of things needed to be done.

So, here it is the Part 3 of my PLR, of my recent visit to the resort. This time around, we stayed at the Hill Villa.

When it is Hill Villa, means its either by the hill or on top of the hill, so this one, is somewhere there :p To go up to the hill villa, don't worry. There is an elevator to go up. Actually by the side, you would see a long stairs going up the hill, which my hubby said, if I have to walk up there, I would just pay for the lower category and be it.

Oh yes, Hill Villa is actually the 2nd category of the rooms. Everything is the same as the Garden Villa. Just that you would get this view from your balcony:

Other than that view from the balcony, you would have this view of your neighbours too :

The above is actually my balcony and the furthers is the next door's balcony. So in terms of privacy, unless you let go of the blinds, you would definitely be like sitting at a common lounge.
Then the picture below, is the other side of the balcony view where you would see the next villa's area. Because the other one is higher, so they can see you more than you can see them *wink*

However, the balcony area which I have been talking so much about, is not bad. I love spending the time reading outside here too when it gets too noisy at the common pool area ( which tend to be quite loud when you have rowdy people *ppffftttttt )

We also used the chairs below for our dining. Order room service and sit outside here....just nice.

Picture above you can see the lounger for you to sun bath ....and you see the Cleopatra chair ? it felt so good just to lie down and read books.

Then lets go and see the room :). As you come in, you would see this....a stack of magazines...YTL produces some reading materials too....

In between the bathroom and the bedroom , there is actually a space where the wardrobe is and also the minibar and etc. Then as you turn to the right ( in my case, is to the right ), you would see the Bedroom and the way out to the Balcony.

Some of the pictures they have in the Villas

The nice bed...really nice, I shall say.

And I love the part where it says " Welcome back " ....yes, I am back !

The view of the room from the balcony....you can see the writing desk and a sofa on the left hand side....the TV is also there.

I like them giving this bag for you to use on the Island....you can just leave your LV, SF, Gucci and etc.... hahahahhaaha :)
This is the outdoor sunken bath....its very romantic for couples. But for outdoor bath, you have to request for the lower unit. You see the villa has 04 units for whole entire villa. So 02 down and 02 up. The upstairs unit would have a covered sunken bath.

Laze in the sunken bath and look up to this forest.....*sigh*

The lovely toiletries

The view from the bathroom area...long long way.

So , this is the final posting, for the meantime about PLR. Unless if I go again, which I would love to go again with Hubby, I would go for a different room category so that I can post it all.

My final conclusion of this resort, this is a gorgeous resort for honeymooners, a short weekend gateway for couples ( short as the F&B are quite costly ) and for loners who just want to be alone. Not so child friendly, am not sure what can my children do here....so definitely just for you and you :)

Oh well, this is again, my thoughts of this resort, from both stays I did this year.....I have friends who don't like it, so maybe you would, then maybe you won't.......

Pangkor Laut Resort (PLR) - Part 2

OK, lets do the next posting...I had the wonderful chance to stay at the Spa Villa. The Spa Villa is situated in the Spa Village, a distance from the main lobby area. So from the Lobby area, you would have to take the shuttle to transport you here.

Bear in mind, because the place is supposed to be distressing, relaxing, calming and etc etc, this Spa Village is only open for Adults. Then, the Villa has no TV ( OMG ! I can't believe I survived staying there :p )

For this posting, you would basically see pictures of the Spa Villa only, the actual resort is in my earlier postings, but I forgot to take the pictures of the Spa Village's area. You can see in their website, but then again, I think you should read this from a normal guest point of view too :)

So, as you walk to the villas, you would be walking on the platform.

Walking up to my Villa ......

After walking on the sandy beach, better to wash off the feet
The entrance, the door is like a typical local village house that doesn't have a door know. So quaint !
I loike ......
The first thing you would see as you open up the main door. The never ending sea.....
Then the inviting looking bed....with the nice wooden designs.

Since there is no TV in the Spa Villa, they made sure they supply you with loads of mags :)

 Nice local fruits platter

An extra gift from the hotel ?

Imagine, lying on the bed, looking out the window into the sea....*bliss*

The view of the bedroom from the big bathroom....yes, of course, you can close the doors in between.

Nice bathroom

Sunken bath for 02 *wink*, you can open up the windows too , should you want to have the sea breeze...., if you don't mind.....hahahahahaaa

Let sit out on the deck....just nice...

I had breakfast here, on a wet morning...so cooling and peaceful.

Another view from the side deck

On my last night, this pillow was put up, by the turn down service. So cute right ???
OK, my not so famous, but still want to give verdict, but only on the Spa Villa :
  1. A very good honeymoon place.
  2. They should have their own breakfast area, should they do not want to go to the actual Feast Village for breakie ( and miss the nice breakie buffet ? )
  3. Peaceful and calming. I mean, this is for Adults only, obviously you won't be hearing children screaming
  4. Appreciate the private pool at the Spa Village
  5. So if you think, you want to be pampered with your partner / spouse, to enjoy the serene and quietness of a place and best of all, payment is Malaysian Ringgit only, this could be the place for you .
But then again, this is my opinion only....at first, when I went there, I thought I couldn't leave without a TV, but hey....I had a great rest, which I truly appreciate. Anyway, you may like it, or you may not......wait for my 3rd posting on the resort OK ? for it would be for another Villa, that could be an option for you .
