Hilton Kuala Lumpur

I have not posted much lately haven't I ? oh well, I have been away quite a lot lately, and plus work, I just didn't have the time.....but rest assured , I have lots of hotels to post up here.

So lets start the week with the hotel that Justin Bieber stayed while he was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia .

Yeeesss......The Hilton Kuala Lumpur.  Situated at the central of Kuala Lumpur ( that's why the place is called Kuala Lumpur Sentral ( in Malay Language ). This hotel, I feel is more for convenient as well. The Sentral station, you can get the ERL ( the fast train to airport ), then the city trains ( something like trams and undergrounds ), also the rail services ( trains to go other states ).
So in all, if you stay here, access, i guess would be easy....but nothing that can be done walking distance .

This is a suite that I am posting here. This is the modern looking living hall. Now, Hilton KL is very much into modern outlook and feeling. So you may see odd looking chairs, colours, but well co-ordinated.

A little hallway to go to the master-bedroom. Creative designs. My kids love this part.

Hilton is known also for the square big pillows. You can see the pillows there, so plush and inviting *wink*

Most of the hotels have the open concept bathroom. So does Hilton. But rest assured that they do have sliding doors for privacy.

Remember the hallway just now, that is also where the workstation is.

A view of the sofa in the living hall from the hallway.

Along the hallway, the walk in wardrobe is also there.

Sofa is comfy too.

A little dining area at the living hall.

A slide at the poolside

Now, since there are 2 hotels there ( Hilton and Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur ) , they share a long pool and a pool terrace on the 8th floor. So guests from both hotels would share the same facility, but its ok, as the pool is long enough.

The pool is also child friendly as they have wading pool for kids, then the rest are 4 feet , if I am not mistaken,  plus they have life guards.

Hilton KL also has a famous night club called the Zeta Bar. A bit on pricy range but you could see, the royalties, the famous artistes and also the wanabes :D . Restaurant wise, you don't have to worry as they have all sort of cuisines. BUT, if you are on a budget side, just walk down to the KL Sentral where you can get McD, KFC and the medium range restaurants too. Or just hop onto the Star Train, and go off straight to KLCC !

The hotel also has numbers of convention and meeting rooms, so naturally you would see a lot of corporate clients. A mixture of clientele I would say. But even for leisure travellers, you won't feel left out.

My summary of the hotel would be :
  1.  Nice hotel with well maintained facilities
  2. Catered to all, corporate guests, leisure guests, holiday makers
  3. Family with kids don't have to worry about hotel not accepting kids....even on the Club Floor Lounge, kids are welcome !
but again and again, this is just me....who knows ? you may just like it or don't  :)

    Sheraton Langkawi

Langkawi has 99 Islands..... gosh ! I have only been to one.... the only one :p

Anyway, Langkawi is great actually, depending what you want to do....the place has beach, pool, booze , CHEAP booze, shopping yes and no...depending what you like ( they have tonnes of pots and pans, glassware and etc ) but seriously, let me tell you , the Booze is very cheap ....because, IT IS A TAX FREE ISLAND.

To drink a beer, is honestly, cheaper than a coke...BUT I am not telling you to go and drink beer, this is more to the westerners who drink...so isn't Langkawi a wonderful package ?

I have stayed in few hotels...but first, I would blog about Sheraton Langkawi. The hotel is located nearer to the airport. So it is not towards the town.

A synopsis of my personal view of this hotel. The hotel has no "real" beach, but they have a small man made beach, which is near to the gym and the seafood restaurant. So if you are basking around that area in your tiny 2 pieces, you may become a "show" , but if you don't mind, then its OK .

The hotel is chalet concept, but they do have a block of rooms, but that's facing the forest. So not very nice isn't it, since you are on an island ? no ? yes ? They have nice pools, huge, to make up with the lack of beach, they also have a nice lounge or pavilion kind should you want to drink in the evenings, enjoying the breeze. Apparently also, they used to be a happening joint for drinks and live band.

In terms of the chalet rooms, the size is BIG. You can see the pictures here...of what I had during my trip :)

This is their mascot....cute isn't it ? Leaving it on the bed like this :)
Not bad, especially with the mouth wash. I like !
Hotels are very fond to have this peak a boo bathroom...
The view from the stairs coming down to the room.
Ample space for extra bed, if you are lucky, maybe 02 extra bed ?
The rest of the hotel room
     I LOVE THESE !!!!
Imagine, Macarons and chocs, M&Ms and Jelly for the welcome platter ????

So in all, this hotel is great in terms of the physical and facilities, just that to get around, you need to call for the buggy. Depending on the "traffic" you may have to wait up to 10 minutes...but if you love the nature, then why don't just walk around.

I feel due to the size of the rooms, it is a great place for young families with the chalet has access to the gardens, kids can just run around ( careful of the slope though ) .

I don't have anything else to say about this hotel, as I think, being a Starwood hotel ( an International American chain ) , the service should be good.... *wink*

Oh well, again, this is just my 02 cents worth of thought.... you may have different opinion :)

    Thursday

    Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Another hotel right smack in the city, which is on the same road as Crowne Plaza, is this hotel...Concorde. The hotel also housed the famous rocking, Hard Rock Cafe.....so let's hit the town with this hotel.

Room size....well, the picture speaks for itself

I will tell you later, what was my daughter doing there.....

No balcony...but you can see from the window of the pool below.

    *sigh*

Bathroom is spacious though..with separate bathtub and shower stall

A hotel which has been in KL for ages.

Surprisingly, can fit an extra bed....so parents could still bring children.

If you are in the Golden Triangle, definitely can see the Twin Towers.

There you go....my daughter was trying to analyze this thing....what on earth is it mummy ?
hahahahahaa....as I said, this hotel has been up for quite some time...so some of the things remained.

The hotel has a mixture of clients. Corporate clients which wants a moderate 3 star hotel, with some easy access to anywhere, would opt here.

and my famous conclusion would be :
    1. Good enough for a lower budget corporate client
    2. Families with young kids, may not enjoy the stay as they have loud music at night coming from the lounge and the entertainment outlet
    3. Space could be an issue

but again and again, this is just me....who knows ? you may just like it or don't  :)

    Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur

A hotel which is totally in the city...the golden triangle where everything is just there...surrounded by office blocks, apartment blocks, shopping areas...so in terms of locations...definitely would be horrible traffic during peak hours ;p

If you don't really mind the view, you would bound to see constructions, or something going on in the next building or just by the street. But oh well....this is KL, so you would continue seeing all these ....

Not really sure if I like the room....but room size, is big for a KL City hotel.

Sometimes I pity hotels for kept printing all these, most of it would get spoilt by kids or just be threw away.

    eerrrr.......BOX TV ???? in this era ????

But then of course....you can see the Twin Towers from here..... if you appreciate it.

Look at the pool's pictures....gorgeous pool , I shall say....BUT there is no childrens' pool so parents please be careful as the water is quite deep.

when you walk around the hotel, on the main street, just be careful...but look at the picture below....the hotel is gorgeous at night, right?

And......my conclusion for this hotel would be :

    1. A great corporate / business travelling hotel, with a location right smack in the city
    2. A very corporate oriented
    3. Not so much for families
    4. Great breakfast buffet

I must say that this is me...don't quote me and don't get me wrong.... you may just enjoy it :)

      Colmar Tropicale , Bukit Tinggi

OK, what shall I say about this place ?

This place has been there like ages !!! maybe like 10 over years ? but we have never , never been there....so I was all excited about finally going.  Off we went for a weekend.

This is one of the buildings where the accommodations are. They have few blocks , with different number of levels and accommodation types.

The so called "town area" of the Village... what you see is what you get....so imagine a whole weekend here ? *wink*

We took a 2 bedroom apartment. The master bedroom with the en suite bathroom is on the lower floor.

      Quite spacious the main room.

The Master Bedroom's en suite bathroom.

The TV at the living hall

This is the 2nd bedroom on the upper floor...strange that I thought normally, the 2nd bedroom would be 02 twin beds, but doesn't matter for me.

Downstairs look out from above....careful with young kids please.
So, what do you do at this place ? well, you can go to :

and yes, they actually have a swimming pool :)

      or the rabbits' farm

yes, you can see rabbits from birth

or you can just hang out at the living hall with junk food !!!
we were so bored of this place, that my family wanted to go back home at 9pm !!! but well, we lasted the night and only went back the next day.

My conclusion for this place is that :
      1. Careful with the rooms that you may get. We changed room as the earlier room was very big, but very bad maintenance, where I don't think I would go barefoot even in the bedroom.
      2. A good place for someone just wanting to chill out, I mean, really chill out...since nothing to do, just read maybe, rest for a night
      3. Families with kids may enjoy the rabbits' farm but at the centre court of the so called village also has arcades for kids to play. But mind you....it could get pretty expensive since there is nothing much for them to do, but just play.
      4. My favourite and one conclusion is :  A GOOD DAY TRIP OUTING.

I must say that this is me...don't quote me and don't get me wrong.... you may just enjoy it :)
